Rebuilt Honda D16y8

Rebuilt to SMCO spec, our Honda D16Y8 engines are first power washed and then hot tanked before being disassembled. The engine block, head and gearbox case are then vapor honed before being hot tanked once more that results in a better-than-new finish and perfect cleanliness. 

All engines receive a .50mm (75.5mm pistons) overbore and hone. These pistons results in a compression ratio of 10.5 to 1. A nice bump over stock, but something you can still run regular gas on. Valve seats are cut, the crank is polished, and all surfaces are checked. All engines get bespoke custom I-beam connecting rods and custom lightweight Weisco pistons. 

All hardware are glass beaded and yellow zinc plated to a better-than-new finish.

All bearings, seals and gaskets are OEM or race spec replacements when OEM options are no longer available.

All tolerances are blueprinted.

High-quality Japanese-made timing belts, water pumps, and oil pumps are used.

The valve cover has the baffle removed and then walnut blasted and powder coated in our factory finish (Sandtex black).

The engines are pre-lubed and  checked prior to being shipped out. They come as a long block with no intake or exhaust manifold. 

If being purchased along with a gearbox, we can also install either a high quality OEM flywheel and Exedy clutch or a lightweight Exedy clutch and light weight flywheel and delivered as a complete engine and gearbox package, ready to be bolted in.
